During his career, he has also won many accolades for his outstanding performance. In 1980, Yesudas even established his own music company called Tharangini Studio at Trivandrum. His most popular songs are in the 1976 movie Chitchor. He has voiced Hindi songs for many leading actors in the Bollywood industry like Amitabh Bachchan, Amol Palekar, and Jeetendra.
He got his first breakthrough in Bollywood in the year 1970. After singing in the South film industry for over a decade, Yesudas decided to try his luck in Bollywood as well. He even sang hit songs in the composition of M.S. He got his first breakthrough with the hit Malayalam film named Bharya. Talking about his career, K J Yesudas recorded his first popular song, Jaathi Bhedam Matha Dwesham on 14th November 1961.
He also studied music under Vechoor Harihara Subramania Iyer for a brief period. Unfortunately, as a result of financial constraints, he couldn’t complete his course. Kumaraswamy Iyer and Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. Over there, he studied under the guidance of the Carnatic music maestro R.K.
Later, he studied at Swathi Thirunal College of Music, Thiruvananthapuram. He started his academic music training at R.L.V Music Academy, Thrippunithra where he completed the Ganabooshanam course. K J Yesudas was the eldest of five children. His father, Augustine Joseph, was a well-known Malayalam classical musician and stage actor. Yesudas was born on 10th January 1940 in Kochi, in the former Kingdom of Cochin, now Kerala. He is also referred to as Gaanagandharvan as he has a celestial voice. K J Yesudas, born with the name Kattassery Joseph Yesudas, is an Indian playback singer and musician who has recorded more than 50,000 songs in a variety of languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Arabic, Latin, English, and Russian.
